What Comes Through: Stepping Into Faith and Your Divine Assignment

The writer of Hebrews gives us this powerful reminder:

“By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians attempted to do so, they were drowned.” — Hebrews 11:29

That word through changes everything.

God didn’t teleport the Israelites to freedom. He didn’t remove the obstacle, He made a way through it. And that same principle applies to our lives today.

Faith Isn’t a Feeling. It’s a Step

The Israelites had been enslaved for over 400 years. Generation after generation knew nothing but bondage. Then suddenly, God moves. Chains fall. Doors open. Freedom is in front of them, but so is a sea.

Imagine standing there. Pharaoh behind you. Water in front of you. No boats. No bridges. Just a word from God that says, “Go forward.”

That’s faith.

Faith isn’t comfort. Faith isn’t clarity. Faith is obedience in the face of uncertainty. It’s stepping where logic says “don’t” and trusting God anyway.

And if you’re stepping into a new year feeling like you’re standing at your own Red Sea, overwhelmed, unsure, and unqualified, you’re closer to a breakthrough than you think.

Preparation Precedes Promise

New seasons require preparation.

Israel didn’t leave Egypt casually. They packed in haste. They didn’t even let their bread rise. Freedom doesn’t give you time to get comfortable.

And maybe that’s where you are right now.

God is calling you forward, but you’re still holding on to familiar habits, old mindsets, and yesterday’s security. Preparation means letting go, even when you don’t fully know what’s next.

Genesis reminds us that God sees the end from the beginning. Delays aren’t denials. Long seasons aren’t wasted. Every year, every struggle, every waiting period has been shaping you for an assignment you couldn’t carry before.

Leaving the Bread of Bondage Behind

Egypt wasn’t just a place, it was a system. And while it enslaved Israel, it also fed them. That’s the tension of bondage: it hurts, but it’s familiar.

Freedom requires a new diet.

You can’t walk into a new season while feeding on old fears, old offenses, and old dependencies. God doesn’t just bring you out, He teaches you how to live different once you’re free.

Sometimes the hardest thing isn’t leaving Egypt… It’s trusting God without Egypt.

Release, Refocus, and Revive

When the Red Sea opened, the Israelites didn’t run, they walked. Step by step. Wall of water on each side. Trusting that what God opened wouldn’t collapse.

And here’s the beauty: the same path that delivered them destroyed their enemy.

What you walk through in faith becomes the very thing God uses to break what once chased you.

This is the season to refocus your heart, release what’s behind you, and revive your trust in God’s presence. The Ark led the people, not logic, not strategy, not certainty, but the presence of God.

And it still does.

What’s On the Other Side

The Red Sea wasn’t the destination, it was the transition.

On the other side was provision, identity, and promise. The greatest transfer Israel ever experienced came after they walked through what scared them.

And the same is true for you.

This year isn’t about settling. It’s about stepping. Not about comfort, but calling. Not about what you’ve lost, but what God is unlocking.

Step Forward

As we move into 2026, hear this clearly: God hasn’t changed. He still parts seas. He still leads people through impossible places. And He’s still calling His people forward.

So don’t camp at the water’s edge. Don’t go back to what once held you. And don’t underestimate what God can do through one obedient step.

This is your moment. This is your crossing. This is what comes through.

Walk forward in faith.
