Easter Wasn’t the Finish Line… It Was the Beginning
A lot of us feel this, even if we don’t say it out loud…
Easter comes in powerful.Hope rises.Faith feels alive again.
And then Monday hits.
And we’re left wondering: “Okay… now what?”
That question isn’t new. The disciples felt it too.
After the resurrection, Jesus didn’t just disappear or leave them guessing. He gave them a very specific instruction:
“Go to Galilee… and there you will see Me.” (Matthew 28:10)
That wasn’t random.That was intentional.
Because Galilee holds the key to what comes after Easter.
What Is “Galilee” (And Why Does It Matter Today?)
Galilee is where it all started.
It’s where Jesus first called the disciples
It’s where they left everything to follow Him
It’s where miracles became personal
It’s where their faith was first ignited
So when Jesus says, “Meet Me in Galilee,” He’s really saying:
“Go back to where your faith became real.”“Return to your calling.”“Reconnect with your purpose.”
Why Jesus Sends Us Back Before He Sends Us Forward
Before God moves you forward, He often brings you back.
Back to:
your first love
your original passion
your initial “yes” to Him
Because somewhere along the way, life happens.
We get busy.We get distracted. We get discouraged.
And without realizing it, we drift.
Galilee Is a Place of Restoration (Not Perfection)
When the disciples went back to Galilee, they didn’t go back as perfect people.
They went back as:
doubters
deniers
people who had failed
Peter had denied Jesus.Others had run away in fear.
And yet Jesus still called them back.
Why?
Because Galilee isn’t about where you’ve been wrong… it’s about where God restores what He started.
From Resurrection to Authority: The Real Shift
Something powerful happens in Galilee.
Jesus doesn’t just restore them, He re-commissions them.
Resurrection proves His power
Galilee transfers His authority
Following Jesus isn’t just about believing, it’s about walking in authority.
What Does “Authority in Christ” Actually Mean?
Authority in Christ means:
You don’t fight battles alone
You don’t live powerless
You don’t have to be ruled by fear, sin, or insecurity
It means:You represent Heaven on earthYou carry the name of Jesus into your everyday lifeYou have spiritual backing when you pray, speak, and act in faith
But here’s the key…
Authority only flows from relationship.
How to Walk in What God Has Given You
If you’re wondering, “How do I actually live this out?” start here:
1. Stay submitted to JesusAuthority isn’t about control, it’s about alignment. The more surrendered you are, the more effective your life becomes.
2. Stay connected dailyThis isn’t a Sunday thing.Time with God is what keeps your “Galilee” alive.
3. Actually use what God gave youPray boldly.Speak truth.Stand firm when life pushes back.
Faith isn’t passive, it’s activated.
So… Where Is Your Galilee?
This is where it gets personal.
Your Galilee might be:
the moment you first encountered God
a season where your faith was alive and real
a place where you knew your purpose clearly
And maybe, if you’re honest, you’ve drifted from that.
I get it. I’ve been there too.
But here’s the good news:
Jesus is still calling you back.
Not to shame you.Not to restart you.
But to restore and re-launch you.
Final Thought: Don’t Just Celebrate Resurrection, Step Into It
Easter proves Jesus is alive.
Galilee proves you still have a calling.
So don’t stop at celebration.Don’t settle for inspiration.
Go back.Reconnect.Receive your assignment again.
Because what God started in you… He’s not finished with yet.
Ask yourself this today:
“Have I drifted from my Galilee?”
And if the answer is yes, don’t overthink it.
Just respond.
Pray this simply:
“Jesus, take me back to where it started. Restore my passion. Remind me of my purpose. I’m ready to follow again.”
